Every year I long for the lingering sweet aroma of supple gardenia petals.
When the succulent season gets in full swing, flat surfaces in every room of my house are decorated with bunches of stark white bouquets.
Waking up to the intoxicating scent is worth every extra allergic sniffle and sneeze that the short floral season brings.

I try to resist the urge to pick them early so that all of their luscious layers have a chance to unfold.

Hopefully you're enjoying the seasons brief bursts of bountiful flowers, herbs, and produce! It's sad to let each one go but at least there's always another treat to look forward to :)
