Biography:
Undefined. . .Unconventional. . .Unstoppable. Whether I'm crafting a new plot twist in my latest suspense novel or helping clients add profit, productivity, and personalization to their businesses, this ShutterQueen lives life on her own terms.
I specialize in capturing and preserving family memories through portraiture, jazzing up websites and blogs with unique angles, expressions, and video, and sharing a compelling story of each event I cover.
As a young child I took pictures like my grandma, with my little Kodak 110 camera. (did I just date myself, or what?) But I didn't get hooked until years later when I took a trip to the mountains in October 1994. It began as a hobby while working at a retail camera store. From there I collected bodies and lenses. I switched to a photo lab job and began my journey into the freelancing world. I learned technique in community college classes and crash course business skills from other photographers at the 9 - 5's. My first official "job" was a family wedding for a whopping fifty bucks. After that I was in the biz doing family portraits, weddings, and eventually onto commercial work.
For fun I love breaking out the camera to shoot a gorgeous sunset or some fall foilage in the mountains. Oh yes, and there's always a camera floating around when my friends and I hang out. Look for some of those fun escapades displayed here and on Flickr! I'm lucky in that it's all a tremendous joy when I have a camera in my hands. I meet some of the most amazing people and I'm able to help them share their pictorial stories on a personal and/or professional level.
